Beginning
Before you leave Raven's Dust for the first time,  if you are a mage, try to have the following:  Cure Poison (from Moonrock), Detect Hidden and Detect Invisible (from Starbolt) and a backpack full  of manastones, but dont completely Earthen Strength pack... save a few encumbrance points for Villain's Skulls.  It is also  best to be in chainmail or even higher if you have it.  The Nightcreepers and/ or Pilferers out the sheriffs gate  have been known to drop Elven Leather  pieces, which give the same ac as chainmail  but are lighter and only require a 75 endurance, but if you have the 80 endurance and the Rapid Healing skill maxed out you wlll be in better shape.  Note:  if you have not been able to afford chainmail, do the Villain's Skull  quest as much as possible:  you get 10k exp for each one you turn  in (your 10th the first time you get 25k exp and for 100, it's 500k expThanks Maloon for the addition!) AND a piece of chainmail armor.  If you don't need chainmail, do not drop it and clutter up the server. INSTEAD, why not sell it to the armor shop and make some money? :)   You'll need the cash, especially if you are going to need manastones as they are 1000  gold per stone.  The price is worth it, especially for a mage, because otherwise your manabar will stay quite low.  There  are not many safe spots to meditate outside the city.

Thank You Note Quest (Nightcreeper / Pilferer Quest)

Before you  venture out the city walls, go visit the mayor.  He will mention the sheriff, Grant Hornblow.  Find him by the Fountain Exit.  Tell him help, nightcreepers and pilferers.  He will tell you to kill 9 nightcreepers or 8 pilferers.  Each time you do that many of each, go back to the sheriff.  He will give you a thank you note and 50k exp points!!  Then for each 6 Thank You Notes,  go back to the Mayor and say thank you note.  You  should get over 220k exp and a Lost Blade of the Dragon.  I hear that these blades make nice weapons  (STR 215 to use).  I have no idea why as of the close of Alpha they could not be sold to the shop, since so far no one has found a quest use for them.  The nightcreepers and  pilfers also drop sacrificial dagger of  bleeding and blades of heroism.  The   blades of heroism are for the good quest and the sacrificial daggers of bleeding are for the Evil Quest.  But you will only need 9 of the blades of heroism when you get to that part, so for now sell any that you find to the shop to make some money.

Certificate of Recognition / Secret Documents Quest   can be done without even leaving Stonecrest walls

Something else the sheriff tells you he wants are Secret Documents.  He tells you this at the same time he tells you about the nightcreepers and pilferers.  My friend Ladyfire-DKG from the EAceleration Server and I worked on that quest together.   What you do is find the chest in the mayor's house.  In it will sometimes be a Shiny Key. You take this to the Weapon Shop Chest and pray for another key, which you then take to the chest in the Armor Shop.  If you get lucky enough again for another key, take that one to the chest in Mithranna Snowraven's house.  If you get lucky yet again to receive a final key, you take this key down into the thiefs cave hidden in the corner of the Stonecrest town wall way behind the Sheriff's Office,  In the safe MAY be a secret document.  Take the 5 secret documents back to the sheriff, and he will  give you
1 Certificate of recognition
250,000 XP
350,000 Gold
Ladyfire then told me that on a hunch she took the certificate of recognition to the mayor as you do for the Thank you note, and she was told that for 6 of those certificates of recognition he will also reward you.  The reward, as I understand it is a Lost Helm of the Dragon, which I still don't have information on.  Warning:  any of the chests along the way may be empty or  contain light heal  pots as well, since all the chests do not spawn at the same rate.

 Villain's Skulls Quest

Simply pick up any villain's skulls that drop or have been  dropped by the nightcreepers and  pilferers  (they look like Raiders), and take them to Delnar Steelblade, one of the npcs that wander around outside the East gate by the fountain.  Tell him villain's skulls and answer him yes when he asks if you are turning some in.  He will take  all  of your skulls at once so you wont have to keep saying it, and you will get each  exp and piece of armor all at once as well.   You  will even be able to read which pieces you get so you don't have to open your backpack.  Take  these to the armor shop immediately to sell if no one in game needs them

These quests all seem to be infinitely repeatable.

Turning in the Colored Stones that you find everywhere

Something new to me is that apparently anyone can turn in the colored stones lying around everywhere.  Thanks to Celtic Mage for not only alerting me to the possibility but also for subsequently testingit and giving me the correct sequence of how to turn them in.

What you do is collect any of the COLORED STONES, not raw crystals, that you will find lying everywhere since everything seems to drop them.  Take the stones to Meltar Winterstorm in the thieves hideout.  Check here near the bottom of the page for a map of stonecrest because the thieves hideout is hidden inside Stonecrest walls all the way at the end of the castle wall that is next to the Sheriff's Office.  Both Goodies and Evils can turn in gems.  Evils do it as part of the Evil Seraph quest for the crown of corruption -- but he wont talk about that crown to a goodie.  You actually receive a varying amount of experience depending on the quality of stones you turn in, for example, Rough or Finely Cut.  Tell Winterstorm gems.  He will act stupid about it the first time, so call him an "ass" the same as evils or wannabe evils say to Edgar.  Get out of his sight, then return and say gems again, then follow along.  I thought I had put in that there is another way to turn in gems the first time without cussing at Winterstorm -- but in doublechecking it just now, I cant figure out where I must have put it, so here goes.   When you talk to him, say renown.  He will ask if you want to know what your standing among the thieves is.  Say yes.  He will tell you basically that you are nothing, and tell  you about increasing your standing.  Say increasing.  He will ask if you want to know how to increase it.  Say yes.  He will tell you that he likes gems and precious stones.  Say gems.  He will ask if you have any to turn in.  Say yes.  See, normally when evils are doing the Crown of Corruption part of the evil seraph quest, he will talk about renown when they ask about the crown of corruption -- which is how the renown keyword etc was discovered.

You will  be able to purchase manastones, but you will have to travel out of the safety of town to gather them.  For warriors, something beautiful is now available at the pot shop:  Heal Serious pots  priced at 300 gold each.

Hints for When you First get to Stoneheim
Your best  bet will be to purchase sanctuary from Nissus Halobringer, the priest on duty at the Stonecrest  temple, where you will arrive in Stoncrest for the first time.  If  you do not,  scrolls are currently priced at 25k for Silversky as  before,  and 50k for Stonecrest.  Who knows? You may take one look at what happens here and want to run back to the safety of Raven's Dust,  so the choice of what to do is up to you.

If you are a  mage,  do yourself a favor and purchase Bless as soon as you can from Nissus, as  well.   See Spell page for requirements on new spells  Also good at this point, if possible, is to get Mass Healing  and Healing Mist from him as well.  Both  of these are  group healing  spells,  so if you choose to descend on T4 in groups, these spells are the way to  go!!!
